# Treemap Diagrams > A treemap diagram displays hierarchical data as a set of nested rectangles. Treemap diagrams are useful for visualizing hierarchical structures where the size of each rectangle can represent a quantitative value. ## Syntax The syntax for creating a treemap is straightforward.
